  • NAB Foundation opens applications for communities looking to fund natural disaster projects
  • Up to $25,000 available for locally-led projects.
  • $4.7m funding granted to local communities since 2021

NAB Foundation’s 2025 Community Grants are now open allowing local organisations across Australia to apply for funding of up to $25,000.

The grants are easy to apply for online and are designed to help communities prepare and recover from natural disasters.

Since 2021, the NAB Foundation has granted more than $4.6m in funding to 370 locally led organisations in every state and territory across Australia, via its Community Grants program.

NAB Group Executive Sharon Cook emphasised the importance of these grants in the wake of recent natural disasters.

“It’s been a difficult start to the year for several communities affected by flooding and fires, and for those still recovering from previous natural disasters,” Ms Cook said.

“Grassroots organisations play a crucial role in recovery efforts, but they need money and support to be successful. We’re proud to provide them with the funding they need to help support the disaster preparedness and resilience of their communities.”

Rural Aid CEO John Warlters has received a grant from the NAB Foundation to help farming communities rebuild and withstand tough times.

“Rural Aid’s vision is to safeguard farming and rural communities before, during and after natural disasters. We stand ready to support farmers when disaster strikes and to offer the help needed at the time,” Mr Warlters said.

“This generous NAB funding will assist Rural Aid in delivering farm recovery events across Australia, with our next one being in March.

“These events are vital in helping farmers during their hour of need, with our team of volunteers lending a hand to rebuild both the land and the livelihoods that are impacted by natural disasters.”

This first round of Community Grants for 2025 will be open for applications until 31 March.
