  • Grant to assist with urgent delivery of hay for those impacted by recent New South Wales floods
  • NAB Foundation continues to back regional communities with practical, on-the-ground support

The NAB Foundation today announced another $100,000 grant to Rural Aid – Australia’s leading rural charity – to deliver urgent feed relief in flood-affected areas of New South Wales.

The grant will help Rural Aid coordinate hay drops to sustain livestock and provide outreach services for farming families impacted in the area.

NAB Regional and Agribusiness Executive Khan Horne said many of the farmers impacted by the recent floods had only just recovered from the 2021 floods which also devastated the region.

“Farmers across Australia are doing it really tough at the moment,” Mr Horne said.

“In the wake of the recent floods, our farmers in New South Wales are in urgent need of fodder for their livestock to help them recover and sustain their livelihoods.

“This grant to Rural Aid will help deliver practical support for farmers on the ground and help them to focus on other areas of their recovery.”

Around 25 farmers will receive hay from Rural Aid over the coming weeks, with drops taking place at Oxley Island and Dumaresq Island this week.

“We understand the pressure many farmers and agribusinesses are under right now. If you’re doing it tough, please reach out to your bank early – there are ways we can help,” Mr Horne said.

Rural Aid CEO John Warlters said NAB’s donation to Rural Aid showed an ongoing commitment to rural Australia.

“Rural Aid is grateful to NAB for their generous donation and strong commitment to rural Australia,” Mr Warlters said.

“Support from partners like NAB Foundation is more than financial, it’s a reminder to farmers that they’re not alone. This funding helps put hay in paddocks and hope in hearts, lifting spirits across entire communities.

“When rural Australia thrives, the whole country benefits. Our farmers feed and sustain us all. NAB’s support is a powerful message: we see you, we value you, and we’re with you. Together, we’re not just providing aid, we’re helping rural communities believe in a brighter future.”

Notes to editors:

  •  The new funding will be in addition to the $100,000 provided to Rural Aid earlier this month, in response to the need for support in drought affected communities in South Australia and Victoria.
  • NAB has provided $1.32m in Disaster Relief Grants to support customers and employees affected by the Mid North Coast Floods.
