NAB’s Village helping customers connect

NAB’s state-of-the-art community and business space “The Village” has attracted more than 1000 members in its first six months.

General Manager of Small Business David Bannatyne said NAB’s aim was to create an environment where small business and community partners could connect, share and learn
from each other.

“NAB’s approach is to give our small business customers and community organisations more than just banking services – and The Village is delivering for them.

“This unique facility is a way for NAB to provide a valuable community service and we are proud to be helping small businesses and community groups succeed,” he said.

Membership of The Village is free and includes access to Wi-Fi, meeting rooms, desk space, social media consultancy, cloud accounting products from Xero and website optimisation from Moboom.

The 500m2 space at 700 Bourke Street, Docklands opened in February 2014 has capacity for more than 100 customers to work on-site at the same time.

It now has over 1000 members, 350 more than forecast for its first year. Of those 1000 members – made up of small business customers, technology start-ups and not for profit
organisations – 250 were not NAB customers before they joined.

“We know that start-ups and micro businesses in particular often work from home, on their own and don’t have access to the resources they need for a functional office space.

“Not only does The Village provide their basic business needs, it is also a space to learn from colleagues, collaborate and connect with like-minded people and at the same time
have access to bankers to answer any questions they may have,” Mr Bannatyne said.
