NAB welcomes establishment of National Recovery and Resilience Agency
NAB today welcomes the Federal Government’s announcement to establish a new national agency to help support local communities respond to large-scale natural disasters.
NAB Group Executive Personal Banking, Rachel Slade, said the agency was a welcome initiative to support local communities during the relief and recovery periods of a natural disaster.
“The Government’s announcement today will provide vital support to communities, assisting to mitigate future disasters and help with the rebuild when they do occur,” Ms Slade said.
“NAB stands ready to work with the Government to build on the investment we’re already making to support Australians before, during, and after natural disasters.
“We know our customers need specialised help in the face of increasing natural disasters. We recently provided more than $4 million in emergency grants to assist those impacted by the floods in NSW and cyclone Seroja.
“Together, we can help get affected businesses and communities back on their feet, sooner.”
In addition to immediate emergency relief efforts, NAB has also launched the NAB Foundation Community Grants program. Grants are currently available to help customers both prepare for and recover from natural disasters.
“The Community Grants program is aimed at supporting long-term recovery efforts and to build resilience against future disasters,” Ms Slade said.
