New NAB app feature allows customers to check and unblock their card instantly in the app
Easily confirm or report suspected fraud in minutes
No more late-night calls or waiting on hold - customers can review wherever they are
The new feature lets customers check flagged transactions and restore access to their card directly in the NAB app, without needing to call or respond to text messages.
NAB receives around 60,000 calls each month relating to card issues - with many customers contacting the bank to check whether a transaction alert or SMS is legitimate. The new feature removes that uncertainty, giving customers a faster, trusted way to verify activity and take action straight away.
It means if your card is blocked while you’re travelling or making a late-night purchase, you can fix it on the spot - no waiting, no phone calls and no overseas call fees.
NAB Contact Team’s Madelyn Do, who helps customers with these kinds of issues every day, said the update makes it easier for customers to take control when something doesn’t look right, and trust that it’s the bank contacting them.

“Getting your card blocked can be stressful, especially if you’re overseas or it happens at an inconvenient time,” Ms Do said.
“Now you can open the app, check what’s happened and sort it out in a couple of taps - it’s quick, simple and puts you back in control.
“Whether you’re strolling down the bustling boulevards of Barcelona or lounging around back home on the couch in your trackies, you can unblock your card anytime, anywhere - whatever suits you.”
In the app, customers can:
Check transactions flagged as suspicious
Confirm if they’re genuine or not
Unlock their card instantly if everything checks out
If a transaction isn’t recognised, customers can flag it straight away in the app, helping NAB’s Fraud team step in quickly and provide further support, including re-blocking cards where needed.
“We’re still watching for anything suspicious and will stop activity if something doesn’t look right,” Ms Do said.
“This just means when it is you, you can get back up and running straight away without the hassle.”
The feature is now available in the NAB app. Customers will need to have the latest version of the app and push notifications turned on for it to work.
