  • NAB’s personalised approach to banking leads to opening hours change

NAB has announced it will begin opening 12 branches nationwide on Saturdays, starting from 30 November 2024.

While digital banking has made routine transfers and bill payments more convenient, with over 93% of customer interactions occurring digitally, some banking needs still require expert advice in person.

NAB Executive Paul Carter said the initial rollout was part of ongoing efforts to improve the bank’s service and accessibility.
“It can be hard to fit everything in the working week; from last minute dentist appointments to scheduling a car service, it often feels like there aren’t enough hours in the day,” Mr Carter said.

“We’re extending the opening hours of select branches based on where the demand is – to give our customers the flexibility they need to get expert advice when it suits them best.”
The selected branches include:

  • Dandenong (VIC)
  • Hoppers Crossing (VIC)
  • Doncaster (VIC)
  • Bankstown (NSW)
  • Parramatta Westfield (NSW)
  • Liverpool (NSW)
  • Chermside (QLD)
  • Sunnybank Plaza (QLD)
  • Carindale (QLD)
  • Cannington (WA)
  • Karrinyup (WA)
  • Marion (SA)

“We believe that personalised banking and real relationships with our customers are key, so we’re reviewing our opening hours to be where our customers need us,” Mr Carter said.

“Over the past 12 months, we’ve spent more than $41 million investing in 28 branch locations, including 11 in regional towns.

“We are also investing in more local home lenders to be there for our customers and support them when making the biggest purchase of their lives.”

Notes to editors

  • Customers who are not located near the 12 branches can access Bank@Post locations on Saturdays at many Australia Post outlets or receive comprehensive support 24/7 in the NAB App and digital banking.
