  • NAB opens new branch in Westfield Kotara, expanding its Newcastle presence

  • First branch in Newcastle to offer full-service banking on a Saturday

  • Dedicated team including specialists in everyday banking and home lending

At a time when many banks are scaling back face-to-face services, NAB is going the other way. It’s opening a new branch in Westfield Kotara and introducing Newcastle’s first full-service Saturday banking.

For customers, that means they can walk in on a Saturday and get everything sorted - from everyday banking to bigger moments like buying a home or growing a business.

NAB Kotara Branch Manager, Megan Dyson, said it all comes down to making banking easier to fit around people’s lives.

“We know it’s not always easy to get into a branch during the week, so being open on Saturdays will make a real difference,” Ms Dyson said.

“People can drop in while they’re already at the shops and get everything sorted in one go.”

Located in one of Newcastle’s busiest retail hubs, the branch combines convenience with a local team - including many from the former Hamilton branch - bringing familiar faces and strong community connections.

“The region is continuing to grow, with more people choosing to live and work here, and local businesses thriving,” Ms Dyson said.

“We can’t wait to welcome customers into the new space, get to know even more people in the community, and support them in the moments that matter most."

The branch will be supported by a team of seven, including everyday banking specialists and a home lending expert. Customers will also have access to self-service options, including two ATMs, a Coin Deposit Machine and a Business Express machine available after hours.

The new NAB Kotara branch will open on 12 June, complementing services at NAB’s Steel Street branch in Newcastle West.
