  • NAB launches relief measures for customers impacted by the bushfires in northern Victoria

  • $1,000 grants are being made available for eligible NAB customers in impacted areas.

NAB is providing $1,000 grants and additional financial relief to customers impacted by the bushfires across Victoria.

The grants will help NAB customers who have suffered major damage to their home, property or business, cover emergency expenses. 

NAB Executive Belinda Mamet said a range of support measures, from grants to loan payment deferrals and other relief options, are in place to help NAB customers impacted by the fires.NAB Executive Belinda Mamet said the bank is focused on providing fast, practical support to customers affected by the fires.

“These bushfires are having a devastating impact on families, businesses and entire communities across northern Victoria,” Ms Mamet said.

“We know people need help now, not later. That’s why we’re offering $1,000 Disaster Relief Grants to cover urgent costs like accommodation, clothing and food. We’ve also put in place a range of measures, including loan repayment deferrals and fee waivers, to ease financial pressure during this incredibly difficult time.”

NAB branches in Benalla,  Horsham, Mansfield, Nhill, Nagambie, Seymour and Wallan are temporarily closed and will reopen once it is safe to do so. 

Disaster Relief Grants for impacted customers in Strathbogie,Towong, Mansfield and Murrindindi shires will remain open until Monday, 9 February 2026. Customers in these are who have been affected by the bushfires can apply online. For financial hardship assistance, or if you are unable to apply online, you can call NAB on:

  • 1800 701 599 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm (AEST/AEDT), Saturday, 9:00am to 1:00pm (AEST/AEDT)) for personal customers 

  • 1300 961 577 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (AEST/AEDT)) for business customers; or

  • NAB messaging in the App and on Internet Banking.

Further support is available for NAB customers directly impacted, including:

  • Loan deferral or reduced repayment arrangements for home, personal and some business loans. 

  • Hardship support for customers struggling to make minimum monthly payments on personal loans, home loans or credit cards. 

  • Deferring upcoming credit card payments. 

  • Waiving and/or refunding fees and charges, including merchant terminal fees and early access fees to term deposits.

  • Allianz is operating a dedicated Catastrophe Claims team to support NAB insurance policyholders. If you are an existing NAB insurance policyholder, you can call the Natural Disaster Claims Line on 1300 555 013. You can also lodge a claim online at any time via the Allianz Claim form.

Be aware of Fraud and Scams

During this time, customers are reminded to stay alert to potential scams. Criminals may use events like this natural disaster as an opportunity to impersonate well-known organisations including banks, insurance or telecommunication providers and government agencies. NAB will never send customers links in unexpected text messages, or ask customers for personal information like passwords or pins.
