NAB launches relief measures for customers impacted by flash flooding along Great Ocean Road
NAB is providing $1,000 grants and additional financial relief to customers impacted by the flash flooding along the Great Ocean Road.
The grants will help NAB customers who have suffered major damage to their home, property or business, cover emergency expenses.
NAB Executive Belinda Mamet said Victorians are feeling the impact of the severe flash flooding across the south-west of Victoria.
“These floods are causing significant disruption for families, businesses and communities along the Great Ocean Road,” Ms Mamet said.
“We know people need support quickly. That’s why we’re providing $1,000 Disaster Relief Grants to help cover urgent essentials like temporary accommodation, clothing and food. We’ve also introduced a range of additional support measures, including loan repayment deferrals and fee waivers, to help ease the financial pressure during what is an incredibly challenging time for so many.”
Disaster Relief Grants for impacted customers in the local government areas of Colac Otway and the Surf Coast Shire will remain open until February 18. Customers in these areas who have been affected by the severe storms can apply online. For financial hardship assistance, or if you are unable to apply online, you can call NAB on:
1800 701 599 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm (AEST/AEDT), Saturday, 9:00am to 1:00pm (AEST/AEDT)) for personal customers
1300 961 577 (Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (AEST/AEDT)) for business customers; or
NAB messaging in the App and on Internet Banking.
Further support is available for NAB customers directly impacted, including:
Loan deferral or reduced repayment arrangements for home, personal and some business loans.
Hardship support for customers struggling to make minimum monthly payments on personal loans, home loans or credit cards.
Deferring upcoming credit card payments.
Waiving and/or refunding fees and charges, including merchant terminal fees and early access fees to term deposits.
Allianz is operating a dedicated Catastrophe Claims team to support NAB insurance policyholders. If you are an existing NAB insurance policyholder, you can call the Natural Disaster Claims Line on 1300 555 013. You can also lodge a claim online at any time via the Allianz Claim form.
Be aware of Fraud and Scams
During this time, customers are reminded to stay alert to potential scams. Criminals may use events like this natural disaster as an opportunity to impersonate well-known organisations including banks, insurance or telecommunication providers and government agencies. NAB will never send customers links in unexpected text messages, or ask customers for personal information like passwords or pins.
* All applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the NAB Assist team to determine eligibility.
