On the Federal Government’s plan to reach net zero emissions by 2050, Group CEO – Ross McEwan said:

NAB welcomes the Australian Government’s plan to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

The Government’s support for achieving net zero is the right and sensible approach.

Climate action is everyone’s job. NAB wants to be part of the solution. We fully support net zero by 2050 and acknowledge our role in achieving that as a bank, through our policies and standards and working with our customers to reduce their emissions.

We are on track to achieve a net zero emissions lending portfolio by 2050.

NAB has been carbon neutral as an operation for more than a decade. Since 2003, we have supported 150 renewable energy transactions around the world and have committed more than AUD$11.5 billion.

We will continue to work in partnership with our customers to advance practical solutions to climate challenges and support the transition to a new energy economy.
