NAB’s digital testing transformation team have been awarded the ACS Digital Disruptors Award for service transformation of large work teams, recognising the team’s creativity and positive disruption.

NAB’s testing team works to deliver products to market faster for NAB customers and has reduced the time it takes to test new products and improve quality to help deliver an easy, personal and supportive customer experience.

Team lead and NAB Divisional CIO, Support Services, Dayle Stevens said it was a great honour to have the testing team officially recognised for the way they are transforming and streamlining testing processes to deliver a greater customer experience.

“I’m proud of this team; they are leading the way in testing and it’s only just the beginning of how far we can go and what we can achieve,” Ms Stevens said.

The NAB digital testing team consists of more than 500 people who look after testing of all technology change, including supporting NAB’s new mobile banking application which includes a range of improvements and new features.

“We’re disrupting our own team and thinking and working like the fintech and start-up sectors, and bringing products to market faster and reducing errors,” Ms Stevens said.

“The skills of the team and the technologies we use have transformed so we can deliver new digital features faster to our customers.

“It involved changing the culture of our workplace, altering the way we work, and thinking with a more agile mindset.”

This transformation has seen testers become quality engineers, who now sit with the business and development teams throughout the whole lifecycle of the project.

“Our whole organisation is thinking differently and solving traditional problems in new ways.”

“It enables support teams, like our testing team, to see a direct connection to how their role is directly linked to improving customer experience outcomes and for us, there is no greater motivator,” Ms Stevens said.
