NAB has unveiled this year’s NAB Mini Legends line-up, featuring a new team of Aussie kids emulating their AFL heroes.

The 2017 NAB Mini Legends attempt all the moves, including Eddie Betts’ iconic goal celebration, Dusty Martin’s ‘don’t argue’, Jason Johannisen’s dash, Moana Hope’s smooth skills and Joe Daniher’s booming left kick.

In a first for the campaign, a NAB Mini Legend is playing one of the best known AFL Legends. This year a young Malcolm Blight doppelganger plays alongside today’s AFL heroes, in a nod to the legends of the past.

Through the NAB Mini Legends Draft competition, winners were selected from over 550 entries to play their heroes.

The 2017 NAB Mini Legends all have a likeness of their AFL counterparts. Eleven year-old Degife is a lookalike for Eagles’ star Nic Naitanui while Eight year-old Jack, who plays a mini Joe Daniher, couldn’t believe his luck when he found out he was a winner.

“I think I won because I kick with my left foot, I kick long, and I take big marks. I’m very tall for my age as well,” Jack said.

NAB Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Knott, said NAB is proud of its longstanding relationship with the football community.

“We’re excited to be launching our 2017 Mini Legends campaign that captures NAB’s ongoing support of AFL. Through our partnership, we back kids as they play their first game of Auskick, right through to the big time, whether that is in the AFL or the AFLW,” Mr Knott said.

AFL General Manager of Growth, Digital and Audiences, Darren Birch, said the NAB Mini Legends campaign is well loved by the AFL community.

“This campaign has had the unique ability to engage footy fans from across the country. We can’t wait to see footy fans embrace this year’s NAB Mini Legends,” Birch said.

NAB has been a partner of the AFL since 2002, and has sponsored Auskick since 2006.NAB also sponsors NAB AFL Academy and NAB AFL Rising Star. Earlier this year, NAB also became the naming rights sponsor for the NAB AFL Women’s competition.
