  • Giant Indigenous mural the centrepiece of new building

NAB has today cut the opening ribbon on its largest single investment ever across its branch and business banking network in Toowoomba, Queensland.

The $10 million banking hub boasts space for 80 bankers from across business, agribusiness and personal banking to serve Toowoomba and the wider region.

Chris Francis, NAB Retail Executive Queensland, said the opening was an exciting moment for the NAB team and their customers.

“NAB’s presence in Toowoomba goes way back to 1872, and it’s fair to say banking has changed a lot in that time,” Mr Francis said.

“Gone are the days of chained pens in our branches. What we have now is fancy new video tech that links customers up with NAB experts anywhere across Australia. So whether it’s a home loan, a business loan or wanting to find out how to do your internet banking, we have the Toowoomba community covered.”

Features of the new building:

  • A 1,200sqm space, with 25 metre-long mural created by David McCarthy (Ngarrumban) representing the local township of Djaawoompa (Toowoomba) and its abundance of land animal plants and marine life.
  • Green 5 Star sustainability rating, with net zero emissions in operations.
  • Meeting rooms with video conferencing technology to enable video appointments between customers and bankers anywhere in Australia.
  • Purpose-built spaces for in-depth conversations between customers and bankers.
  • A 24/7 accessible lobby with SmartATMs, a business deposit machine and quick change machine.

The Toowoomba branch brings NAB’s investment in its branch network to $280 million since 2019.
