Jason Murray joins NAB Private Wealth

Jason Murray, one of Australia’s leading bankers, has joined NAB Private Wealth as General Manager for New South Wales.

Christine Yates, Executive General Manager of NAB Private Wealth, welcomed Mr Murray into Australia’s largest private bank, saying his appointment will further add to NAB’s relationship management team.

“With 20 year’s banking experience, including 12 years working in capital markets, Jason is already well known amongst Australia’s boardrooms,” Ms Yates said.

“Jason’s deep knowledge of capital markets means he is uniquely placed to strengthen the offering of our private wealth business, in particular enabling private client access to institutional capital markets offerings.”

Mr Murray said his move to NAB Private Wealth was the natural next step in his career.

“As a NAB Private Wealth customer myself, I know that clients are looking for a private bank that offers tailored wealth solutions and exclusive investment opportunities.

“One of the key advantages of NAB Private Wealth is the phenomenal network it provides for clients.”

Mr Murray said that NAB Private Wealth clients not only get access to the expertise of NAB bankers but draws on the experience of the entire NAB Group.

“NAB Private Wealth Bankers work in tandem with JBWere, MLC, Jana and other parts of NAB to provide the best possible advice to clients.”

Mr Murray joins NAB from the position of Chief Financial Officer of Sirius Minerals Plc, an LSE listed company developing the largest mining project in the UK in 50 years.

Prior to taking the position at Sirius, Mr Murray was Head of Capital Markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Australia), where he sat on the executive committee. He was also Head of Debt Capital Markets at Citibank and held various roles with JP Morgan in Sydney, London and New York. He is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
